Charlene Miller had nowhere to turn
when the salon chain that she was working for went out of business.
Passionate about empowering female business owners, we helped Charlene to start her own hair salon in Cape Town’s Plumstead, called Charlie’s Angels.
Getting this start-up capital was a lifeline for me. I have such a huge appreciation for the Vuya Foundation.
Charlene Miller
A leap of faith
Her venture has been so successful that she paid back the start-up capital provided by the Vuya Foundation in just six months. Her business is growing from strength to strength and today she rents space to four other stylists.
Women are the backbone of society. It is a deliberate strategy of Vuya’s to educate and upskill them.
