In our success stories section we will share with you some of the stories of those we at VUYA Foundation have assisted or are still assisting with recognising their dreams.

We looked forward to sharing many more of these success stories with you going forward and updating you on developments around some of the success stories that we have already shared.

Andre Petersen Andre Petersen

Andre Petersen is one of our most exciting successes. Andre successfully completed his masters dissertation in jazz performance, through the Lemmens Instituut in Belgium in 2011. He approached the Foundation to assist him financially in order to do this.

Vuya Foundation funded his trip and education abroad, and we are very pleased to announce that Andre achieved Distinctions in his masters!
Andre is a talented young man who is bursting at the seams and one of his greatest passions is to transfer his skills and delight for music and performing to the South African youth. The Foundation is currently working on a partnership where Andre can be "plugged in."

In Andre's words "the overall academic and professional environment of the university programme has stimulated and harnessed my growth as an artist and educator. Being able to interact with world class professional
musicians and educators has stretched my artistic vision even further"

"This has made me even more determined to continue to pursue my vision for South African Jazz educational community as it relates to training and development among our younger generations of artists."

Testament to Andre's talent he was included in the performing line up for the Cape Town Jazz festival for 2012 and performed alongside Jazz legends! Later in the year Andre was asked to perform at the Grahamstown festival and received rave reviews. Andre also had the honour of being part of the National School Band Selection panel and was able to perform with and educate over 400 leaners! Transferring his love and passion for this art.

Watch this space SA, Andre Petersen is a force to be reckoned with in the Jazz world!
